The newest CIF-Southern Section polls are out for the week and Div. 6 water polo continues to be dominated by the Desert Valley League.

La Quinta (fourth), Palm Desert (fifth) and Palm Springs (sixth) remain in the mix with just pre-season games and tournaments. When league play begins, expect these three to jump around until the final whistle of league competition.

In volleyball, in Div. 2, Palm Desert is No. 7 and Palm Springs is No. 8. Still a mystery as to the location of Xavier Prep on the list. The Saints already beat Palm Springs to kick off DVL play.

In Div. 4, Shadow Hills stays at No. 6 and in Div. 5, West Shores is at No. 6 and Marywood-Palm Valley is at No. 7

No teams are ranked in tennis this week.

As for cross country, it’s just Xavier holding strong among the top five spots in both boys and girls out of Div. 5. In cross country, teams are ranked according to enrollment.
